What sound does a bad Wheel Bearing make?

Post by kastrix »

Ok so heres the deal. Whenever i am at highway speeds(50 and above) and i turn the wheel to the right for a slight curve i hear a whirring. It doesnt sound like metal on metal just a soft errrrring. It doesnt matter whether its a slight curve or sharper it constantly makes the noise. I am guessing wheel bearing but i have no idea.

Little help please!
Thanks guys

BTW it made the same sound with my motegis and new tires so i dont think its bad tire wear. Sounds like its coming from the rear but i am not positive.

sounds like a wheel bearing to me, it should get progessively worse as the mileage adds up.... best way i can describe it is sliding a coffee mug around on a wooden desk in a circular pattern

Mine made squeals and grinds, started with squealling, then it just gave way and started grinded wildy.

Don't let it get too bad though, you might damage the hub.
