Help me understand sube brake evolution

From data mining I get the following:

Front Rear

WRX 11.57 10.47 non-vented

RS 10.91 10.47 non-vented

Legacy Turbo 10.9 10.5 vented

N/A Legacy LS 10.2 10.5 non-vented


Sooooo, are the rear brakes the same all the way except the Legacy turbo are vented? And the Legacy turbo fronts and RS the same?

Any piston number increases or other changes?

The rotors are the same, but at some point along the line they changed the caliper design.

Also, there are at least two different piston sizes. On BC/BFs, wagons and turbo sedans got bigger pistons.
And the Legacy turbo fronts and RS the same?
The rotors are the same but the calipers are different. I don't think the piston size changed though.

Rear rotors are same size all the way up to the wrx. The only exception as mentioned is the turbo legacy vented rear rotors

The caliper design changed in the mid-late 90's. You can differentiate the two. The older caliper bracket has a curved bracket, while the newer ones have a more straight bracket. Also the pads are different. The older style pads have two tabs and fit between one center tab on the caliper bracket. The newer calipers are backwards. Pad has one tab, and the caliper bracket has two.

There was two piston sizes on the first gen legacies. The n/a sedans got 1.374" dia pistons, while the n/a wagons, and all turbos got 1.5" dia pistons. I believe most if not all the newer calipers have the 1.5" dia pistons.
