WOOT...and DOH!!

Post by WRXdan »

I an glad to say that I successful rebuilt a 4EAT. Drives super smooth and the 4.44 are fun..but my rod knock issue is not gone:( I fixed the spun bearing, but still have an issue. I guess it's time to go short block shopping. It knocks a little on start up and knock some at 3500+ rpm. It's only going to get worse. I wonder how long it will hold out if I don't rev the crap out of it? Taking bets now...My project has been renamed Project Grenade till I replace the short block.

You'll probably get about 1000 out of it.

Aren't you glad I turned you onto the world of the Turbo Legacy? Always an experience, huh?

Good luck man. It sucks that Subaru raised all their new shortblock prices, a EJ22T shortblock costs more than a STI block :o

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. That sucks.

How come the poll goes from one hundred miles to ten thousand miles? Is that supposed to be one thousand? Because that's a pretty big jump. I think it will last around a thousand or two.

Yeah I should have added 1000 miles. I'm switching to 10W40 and resetting the trip od. Let the games begin. Don't worry I don't plan on killing the engine beyond repair. Once the bearing spins then the car is INOP.
