In Haynes it says ambient air temp sensor but I can't find one! Where should I be looking. I know you'll know in like, 3 seconds.

Ah - found them. What in that system typically fails? The solenoid?
And what does failure imply? No bypass of pressure past the turbo?
I knew you or ciper or someone would come through fast!

They don't typically fail at all... The pressure sensor is used by the ECU to measure barometric and manifold pressure. The pressure exchange solenoid switches the sensor's source between atmosphere and the manifold.
This page describes the setup a little more:
http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/chrysler_map/
When the ECU detects a problem with pressure sensing (either because it can't pass current through the solenoid coil, because it doesn't detect a change in pressure when it activates the solenoid, or because it doesn't see reasonable signals from the sensor) it goes into a failsafe mode where it cuts fuel when you start to go on load, effectively preventing you from going on boost at all.
Are the vacuum hoses secure and in good shape? And the harness connections to the sensor and solenoid?

That link is the most amazingly comprehensive explanation of a single subsystem of an automobile that I have ever seen. Wow. Thanks.

Oh no Josh, I was bumping it so I could find it easily on my thread list in Taptalk so I could link it in a FB post to help a guy out. Thanks though. Lol!
