Pah!
If they were serious they could at least build a group A rally version and then sell on the road cars. I can't believe their spokesman said it wasn't meant to look like a WRX - why spray it Subaru blue then???

Are the Rios here that slow?! No wonder one seemed like it was in a school zone going onto the highway the other day. I will not recall my swearing, though - they deserved it for buying such a POS. My '84 GLs would have run rings around that thing. I remember the headline for an article on the Kia Ria from Car Magazine - Her Name is Rio and She's Crap. I also don't recall the other rally teams having the same hood and wing set up, nor the blue paint and gold wheels. Those people have no honor to build such a disgustingly blatant rip-off/insult.

I also have to disagree with the Civic Si being in that list as well. My friend just bought an 03 Si (egg-shaped
) and it would kick my ass no problem. Handling is way better too...
The Celica, on the other hand, when fitted with the "Action Package," is REALLY ricy-looking... I should know, I work at a Toyota dealer...

Dude, I eat those Si's up like they are hamburgers. Saying something is sporty 2-door and it does 16 flat in the quarter is ridiculous. My car is twice as big and smokes it stock.
Layed the smackdown on one at the strip. Slightly modded brand new Si. He wanted to go again... to get beat again I guess. And my car is still slow, so that is sad.

My N/A wagon got beat by some punk in an SI I was trying to teach a lesson to by three car lengths to 110, but I seemed to have more brakes and could have passed him on the inside of an exit ramp (were I that obnoxious). Did tip in from a car and a half back just to let him know, though. Celicas seem even slower as I pulled onto the highway behind one and he was hardly quicker, but I could hear the engine as if he were pushing it. My car is not fast! The Z may be heavy (unlike my old 240), but that V6 is a real gem and it sings like Elizabeth Fraser. Plus it's rear wheel drive, so that alone should elevate it out of ricer status. I thank Carlos Ghosn for what he's done with Nissan and Infiniti. One of the few CEOs worth their money.

The SI is not very good. An acquaintance of mine is the manager of the service department at a local large honda dealer. He sold his SI at a 4500$ loss becuase he was so dissapointed, and he had many upgrades installed at the dealer (mod friendly). I drove the car and wasn’t that impressed.
Honda needs to build a rotary engine, they are so good at high RPM tuning they could make it scream. When it comes to the SI you really notice the lack of low end torque.

About the 350z... It shouldn't be in the same list as the weak ass Si, i was wrong about that, but for $34K(for the 6spd and LSD) I would hope for more performance than a $20K SRT-4, $34K is 03 Cobra territory, and while looks may be subjective, no one can argue that a supercharged DOHC 32V V8 doesn't a whole lot more potential than a NA V6....

That is true about the V8 in the Cobra, but those things are all motor. The rest is a horrible old platform. Maybe the newer ones are better, but I drove a 1998 or 9 and it was awful. Lots of character, but not as fast as I thought it would be. Plus with the Nissan, the amount of work that's done on the motor ensures it will be as fast @ 150K as it was new. The Cobra I drove felt tired at 60K. Either way, I'd never spend that much on a new car.

There was no blown 02 Cobra, the 02 had the DOHC 32V 281. The 03+ had and still have the supercharged engines...
