Alignment after Diff removal?

Post by mikesoob7 »

Does anyone know if I will have to align the rear wheels on a 1991 Legacy after replacing the rear differential? I've looked under the Subies at the junkyard and the half-shafts are just hanging there still attached to the wheels with the diff removed and nothing else visibly touched. I assume I'll be able to pull it out and replace it without pulling anything else off but just wanted to see if anyone had the experience.

Thanks,

Mike

There shouldn't be a reason you would need to align unless there was a previous issue.

Should be fine. Nothing related to alignment should be removed when you pull the diff.
