Does anyone have knowledge on how many years from now it will be until some of the parts on our cars are no longer manufactured? It's a distant plan, but when I refurbish my '91 turbo I'll might want to think about stockpiling certain parts.

I think most of us worry about this from time to time.
As far as I know, the only laws about how long replacement parts have to be manufactured say 10 years. And since it's 10 years from 94 right about now, it's starting...
Fortunately, a lot of stuff is interchangeable with Imprezas, which buys us a few years at least.
And a lot of parts are available from recyclers, and probably will be for a while.
So, to answer your question, I don't know.

If it helps to ease your mind, my dealer can get any EA82 parts I've ordered so far, from a reverse light switch to center caps.
However, I have heard a story that the return spring on the XT/XT6 manual shifter is now 100% obsolete, so the one I have on my XT may be one of the last in the country.
I've actually thought about buying a set of engine bearings, rings, and an oil seal kit for our engines so if my motor finally gives up 10 years down the line, I'll still be able to rebuild it...

Subaru's policy is to stop manufacture of the parts after 10 years. This is why there is a run on the replacement EJ22T blocks as they aren't making any more of them. But many of the low demand parts will be available for years to come. And, as hase been mentioned something like 75% of the parts on a BC/BF Legacy are shared with the GC/GF Imprezas. So things like brakes, control arms,axles, etc. etc will be available for a long time. It is the turbo specific parts that will get harder to come by, and more expensive through third parties...
