Fuel cut.. how do i get around it??

Post by Crash »

i have a uk 2lt turbo.
De snork and panel filter
Turbo back twin dump exhaust (noisy but i love the backfires lol)
Forge motorsport dump valve
ekotek valve
wrx cylinder heads
High pressure oil pump
Pi lowered springs
16in WRX alloys
MBC set to 13 psi
Boost gauge
water/air intercooler as standard

question... what do i need to do to prevent fuel cut off if i increase boost more, i run 97 ron fuel will i need to change timing/fueling or can i just get round cut off and increase psi a little. answers and comment pls as more boost required , but not at the risk of blowing it.
Engine runs rich at the moment so i think fueling will be ok for a little more just the cut off doing my nut in.
tnx

the most common way is an actual electronic FCD. But some have used one-way check valve mechanical FCD's. Its basically a system which allows vacuum to go through the valve and into the map sensor, but as boost builds it closes (not completely) and fools the map sensor into believing that there is less boost then there actually is. So fuel cut isnt initiated by the ecu. Its Simple, but I hear it can also cause problems with air/fuel ratio's. I believe Morgie has a mechanical FCD setup in his car. i guess he should comment.

You can build your own electrical FCD...

It's not that hard. Just use the one that Team F3CS has got on their page.

http://www.teamfc3s.org/

They have got the partlist and everything else...

I too am running a twin dump system. I was getting a little worried about the backfires but hearing you have the same thing makes me wonder if it's normal. Does your car run a little rich? Thanks
