Why I like AWD

Post by dscoobydoo »

Ok, headed to Spokane from Sandpoint ID on Sunday. 4 inches of fresh snow. Now you all know that means the old people are doing a snail's pace. So we get this HUUUUGE line of cars headed south. Plows have not made it through yet, so there is just one lane.

This idiot in a HonDUH! accord decides he is too good to wait in line and punches it for the 2nd unplowed lane.

See him in the ditch 2 miles down the road shortly after.

Seems the legacy likes the snow. Handles great and tracks straight.
I would not trade that for anything!
Yes I have too many Subarus
No you can't have one

I really miss driving my Subaru in the snow. I'll be in Missoula, MT Saturday but I have to leave my car behind. New snow, eh? How are the ski-hills doing? I'd expect to be able to get a few days in at Lost Trail.

I absolutly love driving in the snow. My parents like to borrow the car so they can actually get around. The only problem is that some other people are going a mile an hour in front of you.

My car is intolerable to peoples other than myself. Therefore, no one but me drives it :)

Matt is the only one who has driven my car, and that was back when it was slow.

I know the feeling, Phil. Only a few others have driven my car, and Laurel's the only one I truly trust with driving it on even a semi-regular basis. I'm sure this is largely due to the fact she's one of the few people I know who truly understand the car's potential.

Naaah! I've got some bald Potenza Re-730's that are gonna get some seat time in the snow. Then you can really see what you as the driver can do! I have some rims with Re-92's on them in case I want some sense of traction under 35 degrees. (That's in F for all the metric people, 35 C would be a scorching day  )

I was recently up on a mountain road that does not get plowed just to see how my car did in deep snow. I did not have any problem getting around in the foot or more that was up there. I'll be back up there agian when there is more. :) The only thing I have to worry about is the car getting to hot, because all the snow blocks the air from getting in.
