Add a 90 degree bend to the lower left output of this intercooler

Take those images, flip them horizontally and then rotate 90 degree counterclockwise.

That 90 would connect to the throttle body. The other inlet would be close to the turbo. It would need two 90 degree to enter the turbo.

What do you think?

Am I seeing it correctly, it looks like a triangle? Do you think it'll fit under the hood? Or maybe with the right scoop it would sit up in it. It's hard to tell

I don't know maybe I'm seeing it wrong but it looks like a 3D triangle in both shots...like an A-frame. It might be a trick of the light though

I know for sure that the core is a perfect rectangle. The tanks are the same size at the mount. The odd shaped parts are the tank ends.

If this helps, the portion you see in the images will actually be closest to the transmission (each picture is the bottom of the cooler if we used it)

The "lower" tank in the image will be on the drivers side as the outlet while the "upper" tank will be on the passenger side as the inlet. The "bars" on the core will run perpendicular to the vehicles direction of travel.

The intercooler will sit exactly in the middle of the space between the strut towers, not off center like the saab unit.

speaking of which, an upgraded unit for cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2429265945

Right on. What are the dimensions? Let us know if it works.

That saab i/c is sweet. Too bad I already have one with the plastic end tanks and no money. Someone should jump on it though and sell it to me later

I have been contemplating getting one of these saab ic's for a week now. What is the maximum boost possible withone of these units? I know someone already has one of these on.

I've heard they can handle 20-25 psi, how efficient they are at that pressure I don't know though. They are not very big.

The Miata crowd has been using this IC with real good results for quite some time. You should have no problems with it.

My over all plan calls for 20 lbs of boost (with all the other proper stuff that is required to get there of course) I was planning on a FMIC but I need something in there so I can at leaste be pushing 12lbs or around there. up to 15 lbs would be very nice. Basically, if this IC can get me well enough to where fuel cut is I should be ok. After that I'll upgrade to a FMIC when I do my injectors and fuel pump and piggyback a/f comp.

I picked up an 85/86 ish thunderbird TMIC for 25 bucks! I dont know if it will even fit but its all they had. All the late model saabs there had already been raped. The guy told me that some kid has been going there and taking every one he can find. Can you say ebay?

magicmike, you have a 87-88 t-bird IC. They are a good TMIC, if you can get enough air through your hood it will work fine. My brother has an 88 T-bird and 20psi through it, 280hp 2.3L
And you do plan on a new turbo right???
I am loving my Liberty Air-Water IC and would recomend it.

I already have a brand new VF34 that cost me a pretty pennie. Its about 80% installed. I'm working on getting it in there as the compressor side is HUGE. When I have it in I will post what I did and photos. In the mean while you can see some pics of the engine rebuild in progress that I posted earlier.
