Went autocrossing yesterday.... My first time, in my automatic wagon, 200k miles, blown shocks, worn springs, wiggly as hell. My first 3 runs I kept missing a gate, or losing it and taking out cones. My 4th run, I made it completely clean, 63 seconds. Not horrible, but in no way good. Hopefully I'll have new shocks and springs before the 28th. :x

Hit me on AIM if you wanna hook up at an autox event sometime. It's well worth the $25 to race legally, and gain a better understanding of your vehicle on a closed course

No. It is just an entry fee so you can participate. At least in Sacramento it is only an entry fee, I assume it is the same elsewere.

You pay $25 per event. That usually gives you 4 runs. You either run in morning session or afternoon session, they divide it up into sections in each session. the one that I had was 2 sections, 1, and 2, I ran in group one, and then when group 2 was running, i worked, replacing cones and what have you. It's a total blast.
