You're intercooled?? Cool! (pun intended  )

Two questions though: 1) Is that a Mitsu Mirage shifter boot?
and 2) Where is your muffler???

Absolutely beautiful car dude. I'm very jealous. A little extra paint goes a long way on these cars.

thanks guys, :)

the shifter boot is just a regular black leather boot you can buy online, and the stock muffler is there, just cant see it. 8)

How did you attach the shifter boot? I bought one, but havn't decided how to attach it at the bottom. At the top it has a combination of velcro and string tie, I want to figure out how to discard the string tie, maybe just use elastic in the top to attach to the plastic ring on the shift knob.
thanks

for the shifter boot i found some installation instructions online. i believe it was a person who first did it in their outback sport. try searching on google i think i found it there.

basically its quite simple. just cut off the last "ring" on the stock rubber boot,
and use that as a "foundation."

then go to home depot and buy a few feet of diamond wire or the like, and use it to push out the rubber ring, so it looks like it has a nice "base" at the bottom then attach to your car as usual.

for the top of boot, mine just came with a fitted ring that happened to fit the stock knob.

Excuse the daft question, but where's the clock? My UK car has a digital clock in the top edge of where your stereo sits...

dr nick,

we dont need to keep track of time here in america, we have cupholders in that spot which are far more important! :D :P

actually the clock is part of the radio , the same radio you have???

I'll try and get a photo posted tomorrow of the UK dashboard. We get a lovely Momo steering wheel too, not one of those huge airbag wheels...

You only need an airbag wheel when you're crashing and how often does THAT happen?

You gotta capitalize the "JPG" in your img link Nick, linking is case sensitive.

It's a spring-loaded drawer for the keycard. Long story short, there's a credit-card sized 'keycard' with a chip embedded in it which secures the stereo - no card, no sounds! Blaupunkt did them for a while in the mid-1990s over here, mainly as a standard fit in Skoda's (which is what the stereo is badged as and why it only cost me 10 bucks...)

It looks so strange without the cupholder. Is that clock standard?

Yeah, and it's a really cheap looking piece of kit - probably the worst thing about the UK cars. The buttons to the left are for the power antenna (broken...) and one marked 'bright'. You might assume (as I did) that this would dim or brighten the clock and you (like me) would be wrong! It actually stops the clock dimming when you switch on the headlights

I've got the original stereo for the car which is a DIN-size feature-packed machine but the previous owner says that the cassette bit doesn't work.

That clock doesnt look good at all, it messes up the lines in the dash.
