Oil level question

Post by 123c »

When checking the oil level, I am looking at the level at where the oil is at the lowest level where it dips?

no, there shoud be two marks or indentations on the dipstick. the lower mark is the "low" level, the high mark, well, that should be obvious.

What I am meaning is where the oil concaves, is that where I should be taking the reading at?

The dipstick is roughly a 1/4" wide...if that. There really should not be that much concavity on something that wide.......enough that would cause any problems or real difference in reading the engine's oil level.

If it means anything....read from the bottom of concave oil mark.
