white smoke

Hello again,
My problem or worry is this...
Whenever i begin to hit boost and let off the gas, not a huge amount of white smoke comes out, but a noticeable amount does. I have notivced it to only happen when I blow off (atmospheric) or push the car harder than normal. But when cruising, no smoke at all.
I do plan on going reciric, as soon as my ordered intake plumbing comes in. But I am hoping its not what I think it is....
I have read posts on here and nasioc.com about others with similar problems, leaking coolant, burnt oil, fuel, etc. Would this be my problem too?
Any ideas or suggestions?

It may be that it's running rich for a split second when it vents. The ECU sees how much air is coming in, but when you vent some of it to atmosphere, it thinks it has to fuel for more air than is there.
Does that make any sense? Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.....
Several people on here have noticed this phenomenon. I believe BAC5.2 was atmo for a while, but went back to recirc because of this.

I thought it was that too. That the engine dumps fuel for air that isnt there anymore. Which is why recirc. is the best thing to do overall. Even if I have the greddy emanage and I can do it still, my car doesnt seem to agree.
Anybody else confirm this?

If it was running rich it would be black smoke not white though.

No, I am still atmospheric, with no issues like that.
White = coolant.
Blue = oil.
Black = fuel.

okay cool. Thanks
i heard that certain thick/thinner head gaskets can lower compression a little. Anybody have any recomendations?

You are already at 8.5:1. How much lower do you want to go?

I have an EJ22 with aftermarket turbo (EJ22-T). My compression is not the 8.5:1 you EJ22T guys have. Thats why I am interested in the thicker headgasket if I need to change mine.

Oh yea, that's right. Yea, your running 9.5:1.
I wonder if the EJ22T headgasket would bolt up. It should be thicker than your stock headgasket.
I don't know if headgaskets are like exhaust gaskets, but you might be able to double one up.

hmmmm I would rather do the legacy turbo gaskets. Anybody else confirm this?

I have the greddy emanage, and I can pull timing and adjust fuel. Could pulling too much or not enough timing cause this? I also have ngk iridium plugs, and of course you cant gap those. Would that matter at all?

White smoke is coolant. So I don't think anything you tune will fix a blown headgasket.

okay, how many hrs does that run to change the gaskets approx?
I still have decent power and 18-20mpg, and my temp guage doent go up. Hmmm I think its just a minor leak. I am going to try to Bars Leak first.
Thanks though.
