in all the pics i see of the saab IC and the WRX ones what did you all do about the clutch fluid res.?

they all seem to cover it up. do you have to take the IC off to change the fluid?

Supposedly. Mine is a slushbox, so I don't have to worry about that......

I remember someone mentioning that they just put a piece of padding on the resevoir and laid the i/c on it.

Depending how your particular setup is laid out, the intercooler might or might not rest on the clutch fluid reservoir. My Saab intercooler doesn't touch it. But, yes, it does still cover it up so you have to remove the intercooler to service the clutch fluid.

hmmm, that is not what i wanted to hear. i know it isnt changed that often but i have little interest in turning a easy job into a hard one.

Then just make sure your intercooler is easy to remove and reinstall. :)

My wrx i/c sits just above the clutch reservoir making it in-accessible with the i/c installed. You can still easily see the level of the fluid however. Tranny fluid changes are made easier if the intercooler is removed as well.

I can remove my intercooler within a matter of minutes (although the strut tower brace slows things up a bit), re-installing is a reverse process that doesn't take any longer.

My strut tower brace doesn't clear the intercooler because of the clutch resevoir. Did I just buy the wrong 'eBay' brand bar?
