2. What is a good "cheap" beginning setup for the turbo legacy motor?

1) No.
2) Stock.
Seriously, for #2, what are you looking for? The "cheapest" setup IS stock, since that is how the motor was designed to be built. Beyond that, it's no longer cheap.

What about say 2.5 heads with different headers with different pulleys with... a different turbo (TEC here in Colorado builds custom made turbos though). Just the basic stuff pretty much... I guess.BAC5.2 wrote:1) No.

Jesus Christ Jon,
You change your mind more often than I change my underwear! :lol:What the hell happened to your v8 STI swap?
As soon as you change anything from stock it ceases to be cheap. And different headers are a waste of $$$. A different pulley is a waste of $$$. A bigger turbo won't do you a damned bit of good without an AWIC, a Fuel Cut Defender for higher than 12.5psi, bigger injectors, and of course, engine management.
If you are now looking at putting a stock Legacy Turbo engine into a car, the easiest way is to start out bone stock. We are doing one of these this weekend. I will do this for $500 labor in a weekend if you bring me an engine and turbo crossmember. That would not include ECU or wiring. I would set it up to run on your stock ECU, like we are doing with the car this weekend, with an NA ECU and an MBC...

92-94's are the same. The '91 EJ22T is different though in that it has an oil cooler and a slightly different wiring harness.

Yea, I mean, you could do like me and just run a big turbo and some fuel control (which I didn't do), and be OK for a few hundred whp.
