Did a search, couldn't find the info i needed. Is the AWD automatic ecu compatible with the FWD automatic ecu? From looking at pinouts i don't see ant AWD specific ecu controls.
Thanks,
MK

I don't have the pinouts in front of me, but wouldn't the control circuitry for Duty Solenoid C (the one responsible for controlling MPT clutch lockup) only be present on AWD TCUs?

ecu would probably be same, the tcu may be different....but even then, like vrg3 said the duty c solenoid is the only thing more that would need controlling. The AWD maps and shifting maps are probably different

Oh, sorry, I thought you meant the "automatic electronic control unit" rather than "engine control unit."
There is no difference between AWD and FWD engine control units. They're the same part numbers, in fact. The transmission control units are definitely different part numbers.
I don't know if the pinouts are similar enough, but if they are, in theory you could use a FWD transmission control unit with an AWD transmission if you had some other way to pulse-width-modulate Duty Solenoid C appropriately. And you could probably use an AWD unit with an FWD transmission if you could trick it into believing Duty Solenoid C was present. Like Josh says, your shift maps might be off though.

Thanks for the info, looks like i'll be OK then, i'll use the new ECU, and my old TCU.
