Is this a good hood scoop?
I have a 91' N/A but thought a hood scoop would look cool. I found this one on ebay a million times. Has anyone bought it, and if so is it quality or does it look cheesy??

hey now.. it has to flow with the rest of the car, and fit its attitude.. that's the difference with our mods --we don't throw money at a car to make it faster, heavier(body kits, etc) or garish. If you've got that thing lowered, with some decent exhaust, and some strong-looking rims, you might be able to rock a hoodscoop. ..just not the STi one, mmkay? It's HUGE.

It's your car. Who cares what everyone here thinks?
To actually ANSWER your questions, though:
Someone here had a stick on "WRX-style" hoodscoop. And, if I recall correctly, people liked it.
He had said the actual quality of the scoop left much to be desired, but he was overall happy with the look.
It's only a few bucks, you aren't losing much if you get it and find out it sucks.

Buy it, set it on your car and see if YOU like it. Just because someone else has an opinion on something doesn't mean you should jump on board and follow. I wonder what it would look like backwards, like a cowl induction. It would still draw air through (if you had a hole in your hood) to provide some cooling. STI scoop would be rediculous though. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

It doesn't matter what YOU like. DO NOT put that hoodscoop on your car. You'll look like a moron.
okay, just joking, but seriously... it's up to you, it'll make your car slower, it'll make your car goofier looking, but it will NOT make your car look like a turbo wagon. Turbo wagons have tasteful hood scoops.
btw Jmoney... The stock legacy hood scoops do very little if you have a tmic. THe only purpose they serve is to cool the turbo. Guess what, they do exactly what they were designed to do.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Ok, here's my input
I bought that exact one. 2 reasons,
1. I have an IC and the stock scoop is small.\
2. 91-white-t had a WRX Stick-on scoop that looked pretty good.
Problem is this scoop isn't very nice at all, it's more llike a small version of an GC scoop...
I re-sold mine on ebay as it wasn't as wide as our stockers...
I'm glad now that I didn't keep it...
I don't think I would've seen a difference in airflow really.

Personally I wouldn't put it on. Don't think it'd fit if you didn't have the power to go with. However, as many have said, it is your car. My first car had a 3 inch gold eagle that I got a trophy store for a hood ornament. Just drilled a hole in the center of the hood and bolted her on. But then again that was a 83' Dodge Colt Vista, not as much class as a legacy
. Just my two cents.
