Torque converter

Post by legacy2 »

i talked to my mechanic and he said that if you dont get the torque converter set right on the input shaft of the AT then eventually it wil burn up the pump in the tranny because its not engaging the pump, is this true, why cant i just reset the torque converter on the input shaft?

there's a little lip with a seal, and it needs to be set in the shaft just right so it seals things up. If it doesn't seal properly....things won't work.

That's probably what he's talking about.
