Tranny results.

Taking the transmission apart was a lot easier than some of the chevy and ford ones i've seen on the inside. Once it was apart it was easy to find the problem with the 3rd and 4th gear.

That shift fork's fine. Don't worry about that little crack. :)

Stock shift forks aren't that strong in the first place. Aggressive driving can break one without any ham-fisting or anything.

Be glad it was just a fork and not a synchro. It takes like 195lb-ft on the end bolt to get the output shaft out of the tranny.

That's the inside of a straight cut, synchro'd box that now sits behind my friend Jay's engine.

"overboost"

Your friend should be paying for all of that rebuild, by the way.

Yeh, all of that happened when my friend was driving the car, no wonder it wouldnt start when i tried to turn it over.

I'm ordering a shift fork from subarupair here in boulder, its about 70 dollars for a stainless steel one to replace the aluminum.

Two of the pistons are intact with their rods, the crank shaft looks unaffected, one is smashed pretty damn good but the other one was untouched. The bearings are all good. the uppipe is fine. Other than that, the case is shot two pistons are gone, one head is ruined, two rods are gone, waterjacket above the engine has a big hole in it, oil pan is loaded with bits of metal.
