Replacing inner tie rod on 90 legacy...hard?

Post by legacycontinues »

I find myself needing to replace the inner tie rods on my 90 legacy. Anyone have tips? (I already did the outers.)

Yes I know I should have done them at the same time...tight budget.

So you're talking the part that goes from the rack to the ball joint? Because the rack is not really rebuildible. It is, but you can't get parts for it really and it would be a huge pain in the ass. I had bad seals and boots and I was quoted 60.00 for the boots and they couldn't event find the seals. So fixing the rack is pointless, especially when a used rack can be had for less than 100.00. I paid 75.00 shipped with a 1yr warranty, and now is a good time to get the Whiteline steering bushings. They cost 30-40 and are one of the greatest single improvements you can make in regards to handling.
