I'm going three inches baby....oh yeah, right into a sti exhaust

does anyone run this setup?, and if so, did you keep your resonator, is their a need for it? how much louder is it without the resonator?.

This should be fun :P

What is this going on, though? 3 inches on an NA would really fuck with your performance.. It'd be loud, and not-so-fast. Might as well just push gas out your tailpipe. NAs DO require a certain amount of backpressure to flow properly, and give the right performance.

Uh, I think he has an EJ20T swap Tristan. ;)

That looks like a nice DP. Does it have a wastegate divider welded on or anything? Before you put it in you should get it coated with Hypercoating or some other type of ceramic. You'll be glad you did. :D

It helps keep the exhaust temps hot, to keep exit velocity up and it also helps under hood temps, less heat soak.

It's worth it. :)

So I got the everything installed today, total cost
Downpipe $120
Highflow 3' Magnaflow Cat $40 off ebay
3' No name turbo exhaust $60
Instalation 400 taxes in.

Total ok well it about $550 all said and done, I have a 3" all the way back(desided not to go with the stock exhaust since so many people said it was not a good idea)
Impressions.
HOLY S#&T, wow does it pull, the butt dyno tells me it is way quicker, spool up is about 2700 with a manual boost controller.
And the sound, Oh baby, I think i'm going to go start it just to hear it growl, not loud, just a nice rumble :)
All said and done, I'm very happy. Pm me if you want any additional info.

Where'd you get the downpipe? That's a pretty good price.

I bought it used off a guy from ottawa, who had it on his wrx, I just reset the comp overnight and what a difference, this car hauls, best mod, as in bang for buck, the car is noticably faster, even my girlfreind said "did you give this thing a tune up, its going really fast today" and she's not a car nut. :)

Stromung makes nice stuff. I bought the same Down-pipe and their cat, and cat back exhaust. All three inch. THe DP has ceramic coating and the rest of it is getting it before it goes in.

Hmmm, I'm a bit stuck with this one, my mike phone can record sound bites, but my digi cam cannot, neither my laptop, let me see what I can do and I'll get back to you. I'll do pictures on the weekend when I get back to the digi.

Yes $550 Canadian or $447 US.
The flanges were also done, I'll post some pics on Saturday. Anyone know how to link photos, I've tried the
but I'm not sure if Yahoo phots will work, any suggestions?
