Happy stories

Post by Tleg93 »

Does anyone have any good news they are willing to share? It would be nice to hear some hopeful stories and I don't really mean stuff like I got a new job but even that is ok. I mean hopeful stories like I had my third child today etc.. The reason I ask is that I'm in a bleak, hopeless spot atm and need some cheering up. Inspiring stories help lift my spirit and any ones that are shared are appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a good day.

Just when I thought it was hopeless and my car was going to the shredder or being parted out, I decided to keep her and put a new engine in it. I am going to breathe new life into the beast with a JDM EJ20 N/A. Think about it....how many people fix a 1990 car? I love my car. It isn't fast as most but I like the way it handles and it is great to dirve really fast in the rain and pass all those retired folks.

This makes me happy....

And with help from my friends on here she will be back to good in no time.

Did I mention that I'm talking about being bummed about my car troubles. Maybe I'll just stop this thread

Scott, I understand. :D

Lives are stories, let's start with that. What are stories? Stories are tales of a particular time-space-epoch that eventually moves on to another time-space-epoch. Don't know what an 'epoch' is? ( www.dictionary.com/search?q=epoch" ) So what's an epoch? It's a mark in time that you'd base other points in time from --kinda like a bookmark, or a save-game-point.
...But at some point, you're moving on, just as time has all along. So what does that make everything else?
Temporary.
You've heard that change is inevitable, growth is optional. It's a pretty good saying, when you're in the mood. If you're not as motivated to adapt, then I highly suggest some other quoteables. However, it seems like right now, Scott, you're having trouble adapting to your temporary time-space.
If this is true, what do you think must be done in order to get out of the 'down' temporary, and into another more enoyable, perhaps more stable temporary?
G'head an' marinate in that for lil' bit...

Lol, that was a good one. I'm marinating and you've done a splendid job of funk extraction

Always here to help, amigo.
What exactly, did I 'de-funk'? Were you referring to your 'down' state as 'funk'? Or the Outkast song I quoted?
Which brings me to a good point: Listen to some music that'll motivate you. For some, it's listening to something upbeat, that gets 'em going, or if you're like me, you wanna listen to something slow, reminiscient, and hardcore. (Slippin' - DMX) It's helped me out before. Bust out a Staind album, Outkast, DMX, even Our Lady Peace! Any of the above are excellent albums for comisceration. (sp?)

Also, Jazz is good. If you're in the mood for upbeat, but annoying, check out Carly Simon's rendition of "Itsy-Bitsy Spider".
Makes you feel good until you realize you're slow-jamming (?) to a children's song.

..not that that's a bad thing.

I was worried that my recent monroe piercing was seriously infected or rejecting(which is virtually unheard of in that kind of piercing) Turns out I was cleaning it too much, and that's why it's red and irritated

Hm. Um, I didn't get crushed by a heavy engine cover today.

hehe, sorry I'm so worked up today. I just feel like I'm losing my damn mind. Not in the crazy way but just in the totally unhappy with my life way. I know nobody really cares and most of you hardly know me at all, if at all, but I'm just in the dumps and it seems like everywhere I turn there's just more BS, more people with attitudes and a very short supply of enlightenment and that goes for me too. I'm not going to bore you all with my internal dialog, I just have to bring it up because I spend a hell of a lot of time here and I feel close to this board. You may think me loopy but I'm not, I'm really ok, just struggling with my reality as it stands at the moment. I'm sure we all go through it at times (at least if we're introspective people). Change will come and this too shall pass. I'm just not willing to wait for it to happen anymore cuz I don't think it will. I've got to take the initiative and change my life but not without a plan. So, I'm planning. :)

I deleted the other thread to avoid repeating myself. Man, I hate this.

RANT OFF damn it!!!

Oh, and I'm glad you didn't get crushed today Steve, please be careful.

I wouldn't have shared my car joy if I had known what sorrow you were going through.

Good luck..

Whatever, it's no biggie. We all have bad days. Sometimes they're weeks or longer. I'm not seeking consolation I'm just ranting off to vent some steam, sorry if it made you uncomfortable. I wasn't really intending to make anyone uneasy.

Happy stories...

I'm turning 21 in 3 days :D. Some of my friends and I are gonna hit up a strip club, and I'll probably get trashed. Hell, I might pick up a stripper

I also am gonna get a digicam for my B-day and I've already gotten my B-day money. Hint: it's the smallest 4-digit number there is :D

I guess me turning 21 is a bigger deal to my grandparents than I thought.

Hey, happy birthday! Be safe while you're overindulging. :)

When it comes to picking up a stripper be careful you may pick something else up if ya know what I mean. I say enjoy the show but don't get too tangled up but you have enough good sense to know what's up.

Such a tangled web strippers weave when they conspire to strip tease.

I'm getting you an ignitor and a coil pack. SUPRISE!!!

Don't play him for a fool, dude, it's bad for his self-esteem.
Scott, I'm sending you a *HUG* right now. Hope you got it okay, cause it sounds like you needed it. I know, I know.. it's from a dude, and you're lonely about chicks, but rest easy --I'm quite attractive --I've been called a Man Magnet before.
You cool? Mmmkay.
Have a good day now, and get outta here 'fore I give ya the halfback hello..
