LT1008 - low noise op amp

Post by Tleg93 »

I'm preparing to build an FCD. I want it to be sturdy so I was going to use some precision parts just for shits and giggles. I'm also going to use the LT1008 op amp. It's a low noise op-amp. Does anyone have any other suggestions for op amps? I realize that Viskash has a good design I just want to see if I can come up with an embellishment.

The only concern I'd have about the LT1008 is that I don't think it can handle input signals close to the negative rail. It's also just a single op amp, so you'd need to use three chips, right?

But I'm sure there are other high-precision low-offset op amps that are a more or less drop-in replacement for the LMx24. Maybe look through some semiconductor manufacturers' online catalogs.

Another improvement you can make is to use a rail-to-rail op amp like the TLV2374, so you can power the whole thing off the 5-volt rail.
