I was just trying to take my front bumper off (for the hell of it), and MAN is that thing on there good.
I tried the three bolt/screws directly under the grill first. All of them started loosening up and then sheared off.
Then I tried the ones under the corner markers. Those came out fine.
I then got frustrated when I saw how many more bolts were holding it on. Mainly, where it meets the fender.
I went to go put on the side bolts. Those both sheared off when they were almost fully on.
I went to go drill the bolt pieces out. This worked for the side 2, but the middle 3 broke a drill bit apiece. Now I have the side holes held on with zip-ties.
That kinda sucked. I'm fine with breaking the bolts off (b/c it IS an old car), but it really annoys me that I can't get the pieces out so I can replace them.

yeah, the bumper>fender bolts were the worst. Especially because my fenders are cracked where the bumper meets them

I found it a LOT easier to take off the bumper and fenders together, they're much easier to separate off the car.

We didn't think of that.. Good suggestion.
Yes, Laurel's bumper was a biatch. Where's Jim to chime in on this?

I remember that, discouraged me from messing with my bumper.

werd.
I still am going to pull mine off though.. I never learn

I need to properly mount a set of fogs, so I want to drill 'em in, or something.. just to make it extra-nice and secure.

You did remove the four VERY large bolts inside the engine bay on the frame rails?

Well, those would of course be for the bumper beam, itself. . . they were the easiest part of the whole ordeal.
One thing I do LOVE about the design, is how the bumper beam has "hooks" on it to suspend it from the front subframe when installing/removing the bolts to the frame rails. A sheer pleasure in the way of design to be sure.
