2nd Annual Subaru Feed and Speed! *Updated 6/15*

Post by legacy92ej22t »

*****************2nd Annual Subaru Feed and Speed********************

It is going to be on Saturday June 18th at Beaver Springs Dragway. We're going to meet for breakfast in Selinsgrove PA and then head over to Beaver Springs Dragway for some 1/4 mile fun. The cost will be $30 to race but spectators are free. Race time is 10:00 am- 4:00 pm.

Track address, for those that aren't coming to the breakfast or are late and need to Mapquest, is as follows:

Beaver Springs Dragway
RD 1 Box 34
Beaver Springs, PA 17812

*********************UPDATED BREAKFAST INFORMATION***************

Breakfast is going to be on Saturday June 18th from 8:00-9:30 am at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Selinsgrove PA. They do not take reservations so that is why we have an hour and half to give everyone a chance to show up and eat before we head over to BSD and start having fun! The address, for those of you that need to Mapquest to get directions, is as follows:

327 S. US Highway 11 and 15
Selinsgrove, PA 17870

************************************************** ************

************************HOTEL INFORMATION***********************

Selinsgrove Area:
Comfort Inn -- 570-374-8880
Days Inn -- 570-743-1111
Golden Arrow -- 570-743-1611
Phillips -- 570-743-3100

************************************************** ************

I'm hoping to have a couple different brackets depending apon how many come to race and the types of Subaru's they're driving. It's all in fun and I want to keep it light but I want it to be fair and close too. So if enough cars show up it will be something like this.

Old Gen. Subarus:

F/I (turbo) class. This will include DL-T's, GL-T's, XT-T, ect..

N/A class. This will include all O.G. carbureted and fuel injected engines.

New Gen. Subarus:

2.2 N/A. This will include all Legacy and Impreza models with the EJ22

2.5 N/A. This will include all Legacy, Impreza and Forester models with the EJ25

2.0 F/I. This will include the USDM WRX and EJ20T conversions and any JDM 2.0 F/I engine. Any Impreza RS-T 2.5 F/I conversions will be in this class as well.

2.2 F/I. This will include the 91-94 Legacy turbo and any other model running an EJ22T as well as any EJ22 F/I conversions.

2.5 F/I This will include the Forester XT, the Baja XT, the new Legacy 2.5GT and any non-STI EJ257 conversions.

F/I unlimited. This will include the USDM STI and any heavily modded
(280+ CHP) EJ20T, EJ22T or EJ257.

This is best case scenario if a lot of people show. Most likely it will end up being a F/I class and a N/A class.

Here is some safety info from the BSD website. This only applies to those that are going to race and I'm not sure how strictly they inforce some of these rules, like the drive shaft strap. I've ran there before and don't remember them checking for 'em. You definitely will need to wear pants, shoes, socks, t-shirt to the middle of arm no matter how fast you are, and have a Snell 95 helmet if you're faster then 13.99.

All cars and bikes must meet IHRA safety standards.
Here is a short list of minimums.
All cars must have a radiator catch can, all wheel lugs, battery
hold down, seat belts. In short, no unsafe cars.
If your car runs 13.99 or faster (100 MPH) you must also have a
drive shaft loop.
If you run aftermarket wheels and run 11.99 and faster, you
need long wheel studs. ($15 at speed shops)
If you run 11.49 and faster (115 MPH) you must have a roll bar.
> As a driver you must have long pants, real shoes and socks,
t-shirt to the middle of the arm.
At 13.99 seconds you are required to wear a Snell 95
approved helmet.
At 11.49 seconds you are required to have a SFI Jacket.

I hope we have a good turn out this year. Last year it rained and only about half the guys that said they were coming showed.

Count Majen and I in. She'll be prepped up for the run. I have a question though. I don't know what she'll be capable of timewise so I don't know what requirements I'll need to meet. Drop me a line and give me a better idea.

For all the vegetarian people I'll be thinking about what might be a good dish at the bbq. I think the veggie crowd is limited to only a few. :)

It won't rain, my car will be ready so I can feel ready to rock this year. It'll be fun.

I think at the very most you'd need a helmet Scott. Even that is probably not going to be required. I don't forsee you running sub 14's. I predict you'll run probably mid-high 14's. :) You just have to have pants, real shoes (no sandles or tevas) and a long sleeve shirt.

Sam- Sure, he can come. We're getting in on a Tune and Test day at Beaver so really any one that wants to can come. There is bound to be some big time muscle there too.

Phil- I can't remember his name but I sure hope not. He's friends with Brandon, who is coming and is cool, but maybe I'll mention that that guy didn't go over to well and that maybe he should stay home. ;) I hate to be a jerk like that though.

I saw him at Wegman's the other day and he seemed stoked to come to the F&S. I told he should come and that we will have a great time.

Just kidding, but I did see him at Wegman's.

I don't remember who was at the table, maybe Vikash or Scott, but he was cursing up a storm with Sierra in quick earshot.

Darn it, I had a big post worked up and was seriously moving teh mouse to hit submit when my boy turned off my computer! Takes after his momma.

ANyways, yes Scott, that is funny.

That guy was annoying and I didn't appreciate his mouth around my kids either. HE was the only one in the crowd that didn't click. But hey, what do you expect, he's a Hyundia guy.

I don't even know if this is going to be an issue. I don't know if Brandon is planning on bringing him or not. I can try to find out and if he is I can try and dter his attendance from at least the BBQ. I can't really tell anyone they can't go to BSD.

I feel bad though, I mean, the guy was very friendly and all, it's just that he was so loud and overpowering in conversations. That and he just wouldn't stop talking. Hopefully the guy's just not planning on coming.

I thought no one noticed. :)

Ah, I'm feeling the love. Actually I've had these high powered positive energy flows (at least that's what it feels like) through me the last few days. I guess that's something else, though.

Damn computers. My USB still doesn't like me.

I said it last year and I'll say it again this year... I'm hoping to be able to make it up since my friend goes to Penn State. I'd have my dad's 95 Altima though. Don't count me into your numbers though because there's probably more chance of me not making it than making it :(.

It's looking like I won't be able to make it now. It sucks but I have another obligation I forgot all about. The only time I'll be able to come is after 12:00 pm. :x

Have fun guys, do a run for me. I'll be around Friday night though.
