Post by NICO »

i am just finished welding my intercooler tubes up for my 93 impreza L sedan (LEGACYTURBO), and i want to rap my tubes so they dont get hot, any one now of some good cheap long lasting stuff that would make the tubes stay cool. i pianted them black so it helps out a bit but i want to rap them also.

Rap 'em all you want! They won't rhyme, though, and your knuckles will eventually hate you.

Ceramic coat them. Jet hot coating works too.

not only does wrapping pipes retain heat inside (although this is good for header and down pipes to keep velocity up) but it retains moisture when a good rain or even morning dew soaks into them. Wrapped pipes will rust through so freakin fast its not funny. At least, thats the kind of thing we have to worry about here in the rat swamp (Florida)
