Hey everyone,
First time for me; just registered a couple mins ago. I have been looking at your posts on various topics about engine swaps. I was wondering what you guys would suggest for my situation. I have a 1992 Legacy Wagon with an EJ22E motor. I blew my transmission at 118k. It's in the shop right now. Since a rebuild is a ton of money, I was just thinking of replacing the engine with an EJ20T that comes with a transmission. Should I spend the money on the EJ20T or just rebuild the dead tranny and add on to the EJ22E? In other words, would the EJ20T require a different crossmember, etc.? Also, what is the potential of each engine. Thanks, for reading.

You can put one of those engines in there without extensive wiring and run off the stock ECU. It won't be optimum, but it will run. Regardless, you will need a turbo crossmember to make it work right. I have one listed in the classifieds.
Also, most of those Ej20G's have auto trannies. Is yours an auto?
