umm, there are steps? i didnt know that, me, my friend, my father, and my uncle all did this and we just disconnected everything and took the old engine out, and now we are puttin the new one in and we know how to hook everything up except getting the damn torqu converter back into the tranny, the TC is still connected to the engone, but i dont see how to put it back on if i were to take it off. does that help?

You should have mounted the torque converter to the tranny before trying to put the engine in. You need to line it up and slide it on, and then put the engine in and bolt it to the flex plate through the timing hole in the top of the block...

What he said...
Another note, I've had better luck re-stabing the TC with the "drive sleeve" clipped to the TC before you install it (I'm not sure you can do it any other way).

Yes, you HAVE to mount the TConv to the tranny first,-It won't mount on the sleeve correctly if you still have it mounted to the flex plate.
