pair of wires behinfd astray/stereo?

Post by kidwired »

I found a pair of wires behind ashtray w/ a connector not connected to anything. colors were like blu/yellow.
I checked w/ a voltmeter and the drop w/ the dimmer.
Think I may use them for my guages.

found a pic of it, only this is in a wrx.
Stock boost guage light? foglight switch?

Because it is part of the stereo wiring. it controls the dimmer on the CD player head that plugs into the back of your stereo. the other end of this connector is on the CD head. this is from 92-94 at least. . .

I just installed the STi stock Lamco boost gauge in my 91 SS (I am a sucker for the stock OEM look) and I would suggest tapping into the ashtray dimmer light, it is the same exact male-female "T" connector as the stereo dimmer connector, just easier to get to imo. The Lamco comes with the wiring harness that splices between each connector which made it a "snap", sorry, had to. Email me if you need a pic. john

just curious about the STi guage, it's different that the WRX guage?
I ALMOST bought stock wrx guages. I like the stock look myself.
The vidio visions should be darn close.
