Will the Twin turbo fits to 92 Legacy turbo chaiss?
Hi people, have a question hope you guys could gives me some idea.
Just have a chance to get a 95 JDM Legacy twin turbo engine in good price. The problem is I know this engine will not direct fits since the Left hand drive brake booster will block the engine.
My idea is take off the intake maniflow from my JDM EJ20G and put to the TT block. will it work? Also, I will run with the old EJ22T turbo ECU will it ganna make the car fire up?
Please input all your opinion for this kind of mod since I don't see there are anyone did it before.
Thanks
Ben

Why would you want to use the EJ20G manifold first of all? That will just make everything more complicated for you. The intake for the turbos run under the manifold, not to mention all of the vacuum hoses, sensors and other things that come with the EJ20H manifold. My question for you though, are you trying to use the twin turbo setup or are you just wanting to use the EJ20H engine? The reason the engine wont fit stock isn't beause the engine itself, but the turbo. That's what comes into contact with other items in the LHD setup.

Ej22T,
What's wrong with your EJ20G?(He does not have an EJ22T for those who haven't been around or didn't check his signature) The Ej20H is not substantially different than what you currently have in your car.
The heads on the Ej20H are a bit more modern, but if I am not mistaken, it still uses HLA's. And it is an open deck motor. You really aren't going to gain anything for all of your troubles.
Only if your engine is currently bad would you want to bother. Then, your original idea is the right one. Move the EJ20H in with your current manifold and everything else you have and it will identical to your current set up...

Hi Matt, you are right, my cylinder heard should be leaking since all my coolent are brown and I could see oil inside the coolent system. But no coolent inside the engine oil.
Since the shop I usually take my car to let them repaire has the EJ20H in the shop and they told me the engine block of the twin turbo will/may work so I have to make myself clear before I let them to do the swap, but since I don't see anyone did it before, so I have to ask around before it start.
If the EJ20H is not a good choice then I have to buy another EJ20G engine for the swap.
Other then the EJ20H is open deck will there are any other things will make this project have problems?
Thanks for your answers
Ben

There are many things that could have caused this, you could've blown a headgasket, your oil cooler could be cracked, your turbo could be knackered, but cracking a head is less likely. I'd start with the headgaskets, it'd be cheaper than an engine swap almost assuredly.

Hi Thawa, thanks for your info, do you know there are any way to check to see what had happened to my engine? Let me tells you what had happen and the condition on my car now.... I do have lots of oil and coolent mixed in the rad. but no coolent in the oil since I did the oil change and checked no coolent. No blue smoke from the exhaust, engine oil getting lets after 3 weeks of driving.
I did asked the shop for the head gasket replacememt, but they told me when I going to do the head gasket replacememt it may needs to polish the block so it may cost exter few hundred dollers on it, but if do the engine swap it may cheaper then do the engine rebuild. What do you think? any suggestion
BTW, thanks again and now I may ask the shop to check to see what will be the main problem of this engine.....

Well, if you really wanted to you could have each cylinder tested for compression or leakdown and that'd tell you whether the fluids mixing is in the engine or if it's external, beyond that I'm not sure how you'd be able to diagnose if there's a problem with the headgasket or the head itself. It's just not very likely there's a problem with the head, unless of course you've been driving it like this for a long time. What did they mean by polishing the block? All you really need to do is clean the mating surfaces and check for warpage. It's definately a good idea to talk to the shop and get their ideas on the situation.

Does the car run fine? Sounds like a head gasket. It could be other things, but that's easily the most likely suspect. Almost like it could have been aliens or Satanists that killed Laci Peterson, but it's much more likely that it was Scott. You can do the job yourself and save lots of money and I'd bet that's all it is. As far as 'polishing' the block, just clean the surface carefully with a razor and some acetone to get all the old gasket off.
