Here's the impregacy. It finally runs, or burbles rather, i love that subaru turbo burble. The goal is for it to be a very sleepy sleeper. Please post ideas, comments, pics...

Looks like the best kind of fun, the kind that doesn't get attention.

Indeed, i think an AWIC would be in order -good idea. I'm thinking i should get some of those "proud parent" bumper stickers too. Maybe some of those convex mirrors that the old folks use.

It is nice not grabbing the attention of the popo, but an added bonus is that all the ricers don't look at my car and try to race it.

BTW i've been wondering -Do you guys think this car can accelerate as quickly as a wrx? i know its down like 70hp from wrx, but it's also down like 600lbs and with the 4.11 gearing i think she might be close.

damn, I wouldnt look twice at that, very sleeper. got a quiet exhaust?
it needs a bunch of tree hugger stickers to complete the look.

it will be pretty close. the 4.11 and 600#s make a huge difference. it may run out of breath before the WRX, but the 60ft. time might even be better than the WRX.

Well I challenged my cousin to a duel. He has an 03 WRX wagon. So i guess we will see how it compares. But i think it might be just how you said with the WRX pulling away at higher RPMs where the DOHC probably make a big difference in response.

Well for now it is a 2003 wrx turbo back exhaust. There's a picture of it and more on my cardomain site: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/755558

Presently it only has the rust and dents, but a funny sticker package will have to be added to offset the planned 3" mild steel turbo back exhaust. I'm hoping to incorporate 2 home-made PVC perforated core silencers plus a magnaflow muffler painted black of course.

Also what did you do with the fittings on the resonator? I see the IAC valve hose kinda looped around. Where does it go?

i have the IAC getting air from where the PVC system is supposed to be getting it from. And the airbox is just kind of half of an airbox fliped upside down. i was thinking to would be cool to put luvers in the hood to get air into that thing.
