93 Turbo Touring wagon question

A buddiy of mine has a 93 Touring wagon, and the turbo has locked up....could someone point me to a cheap replacement for it, or possiably a re-build kit for it.

He's not looking for more power, just something to replace the siezed one...

I just replaced my turbo with a WRX turbo, so I have my stock one laying around. I don't know that I want to get rid of it yet, just in case, but if nobody else can help, hit me up. If I do decide to sell, I'd ask $75, just so you have an idea.

I have one for sell, VF11 off from 92 Legacy turbo has 240000km on it.
$200 and its yours.

I've got a EDM VF-10 for $250, great shape with about 120Km on it.

rebuild it if you can, its cheaper and it will last longer.

i got 5 vf-11 well 6 but ones on my car and it dont count. i got to stop shopping at the wreckers 3 turbos 100bucks how can you go wrong.

I think that would be his best option too...

rebuild kits for RHB5 / VF11 turbos run about $90 or so. You can buy 'em on eBay, if you don't have a local turbo shop to sell you one.

As long as its a bearing problem, the rebuild should fix it. But if your turbo has seized as a result of turbine or compressor wheel blade/housing clearance issues, the rebuild kit will be a waste of money.

If you end up with a rebuild kit, you will need a set of snap-ring pliers to get the first bearing out.
