replacement liftgates...
I was wondering if all of the liftgates from 90 to 94 are the same and can be used to replace a rusted one. The liftgate on my 93 wagon is in sorry shape around the license frame and think that perhaps replacing it completely would be the way to go. I have the plastic reflector across the gate and has a crack in it. I have to manually adjust the handle so that it will open up properly with the key release. I don't know in what shape the rest of that area is because I am afraid if I start loosening rusted bolts the whole thing will fall apart....

You're sure all the liftgates are the same? gnuman swapped a replacement liftgate onto his 92 and is having some fitment problems. He says the new one seems to be slightly taller or something, which affects the dome light and dash indicator and also caused cracking of the plastic trim when he closed it the first time. Is his car just tweaked or something?

Cool... It'd be good to know. I asked him if there was any chance his liftgate came from a 94 GT (since maybe the raised roof had something to do with it), but he said he was sure it was from a 90-93.
