AWD 4EAT into a FWD 4EAT??

Post by subawhatsubawho »

I recently purchased a 93 legacy sedan and to my suprise the tranny is on it's way out something fierce. (as per the giant puddle and grinding noise) The fluid is leaking out of the front of the tranny and it is driving terribly.

I have a low milage AWD 4EAT sitting in my garage just taking up space and I was wondering if it would be at all possible to swap it in but only use it as a FWD.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

won't be able to do it. The rear output shaft needs to be spinning the same speed or the TCU will get all weird......it just wouldn't work.
