WRX swap or something better, easier?

I saw on Nasioc that Matt has a Legacy Turbo harness for sale. He mentioned that it could be used for swapping. That got me thinking...

I was planning to do a standard WRX swap in the future. But if there is a certain engine or head/block combo that will work with the factory SS wiring with just an ECU swap, I'm totally open for that.

I can do the wiring for a WRX swap, but am certainly not looking forward to the untold hours it may take.

So, is there a early engine or such that makes an SS-->DOHC swap easier?

EJ20g is your best bet on my opinion. The wiring is very simalar to the SS. And its cheaper.

Matt as in me? I don't even know if I still have that. That is an ancient thread...

LOL.

Well, it got dug up by somebody. I'm glad it did, because I just learned something new.

Anybody got links to a V1-V3 wiring diagram to compare?

ej20G came on wrx's from 1993 to 1996, over sea's, and yes it is closed deck. Its heads, DOHC, bolt right on to our block. A future upgrade of mine.

probobly more common is the 89-94 JDM Legacy EJ20g. Most that I have seen are from the GT. But deffenitly try to find one from an RS or WRX(bigger turbos)
