Junkyard AXLE?

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a front axle here in Spain. The factory one will cost me 500$ aprox. To rebuild mine I've been told it will be 220$. And at the major Junkyard (well it is more than that, it is a decontamination recycling center) will be 21$

.
What do you think, do you usually buy those sensitive parts at the junkyard?
Thank you

If you can examine it first to make sure the boots are in good condition, it seems okay to me. Axles usually only fail if a boot tears open.
You could afford to have the junkyard axle fail ten times before it approaches the cost of a rebuild.

might be a good idea to buy the jy axles with good boots, and then replace the boots.

junkyard all the way.
i know many rally drivers that use junkyard axles and they hold up just fine.
but, as others have said, make sure the boot is in good shape and not torn.

Thank you everyone.
I will be getting junkyard one. I have a friend going to Madrid (5 hours drive) and he will pick it for me.
I hope it is not very difficult to remove/reinstall.

Just get one from the yard and replace the inner cv joint if necessary.

I had my car sit undriven for 6 months and when i drove it again, 3 boots popped within a week. I'd say this simulates what a jy axle does pretty well.
