I have a set of turbo rotors I'd like to have turned. Anyone know minimal thickness and runout specs for turning them?

look on the disk. the minimum thickness is almost invaraibly stamped on the center near the lug holes
you should allow that 0.030" or so will be removed in re-machining
runout should be 0.005" or so or less
basically if you can see it wobble, its no good
machining a warped rotor gives you a machined, warped rotor; it will never hold up for long

Aha! So they are. The fronts were so corroded on the backside that on a casual glance I hadn't seen the writing. 22mm on the front and 16mm on the rear IIRC from 30min ago.

PS how much do you pay your local machinist for turning these?

Question - what does IIRC mean?
I see it all over these posts, but have no clue what it means.

just learned it a couple weeks ago
IIRC = if I recall correctly
There are some more abreviation explanations on the main menu - things you need to know or something....

most decent pro auto parts stores turn rotors. I don't generally do it anymore, just replace, but $15 each was the charge last time I looked

ACP,
Typically the turbo rotors are too warped/ cracked to turn..
It would be best to just replace the rotors. They are pretty inxpensive for stock replacements, and will work much better for longer.
or you could upgrade to a slotted rotor for a bit more $.
