Coil pack
I am haveing some major issues with my leagcy i was forced to srive it with no coolent and it over heated like a mofo. After new water pump and a hose that split. it olds coolent now but it sprays out the cap and the low pressure resivoir. i thought i may have cracked the block or a head gasket but a compression test had all cylinders at 150(for this test i had the oil and radiator caps off). Also it has a problem now with the ignition system. I replaced the spark plug wires but i have feeling the coil pack is bad but i dont know how to test it. If anyone has any idea please let me now.

i know i need to test the resistance of the coil but i dont know at what contacts and what the value should be. If i have a blown head gasket wouldnt it show up on a compression test? I tested all the cylinders with caps removed from my oil and coolent so if it was firing into the coolent or oil it would be more aperent. Like i said it was even in all 4 cylenders. I guess it might be possible that i blew them all and they are all still compressing the same..... I have a feeling the water pump prop is on backwards and is pumping water strait up agenst the cap. As far as the ignition problem i am getting a tiny spark so i am guessing its the coil any ideas what else it could be?

A blown head gasket may or may not show up on a compression test on our cars. But the coolant spraying out the overflow bottle seems to indicate to me that combustion gases are getting into the cooling system.
