Which one is better? wrx intercooler or ver2 jdm sti intercooler. I know the ver 2 sti intercooler is a direct fit , but is it better cooling than the wrx intercooler?

What year WRX intercooler? The STi intercoolers up to version 6 I believe are all the same as the wrx intercoolers of the same year. The main difference is the inlet tubing.

There are two pdf articles from AutoSpeed that test and compare just about every i/c and awic Subaru ever produced, either here or overseas. It includes has bench flow rates and core sizes. Try doing a search, iirc Josh posted these originally.

Thats definitely not a direct fit. The turbo-> ic pipe is for straight outlet turbos. Maybe if you have a 16g/VF18/12 its a direct fit, but not for a VF11.

well I do have a tdo516G and I removed the header coolant tank. maybe what i should have said was the ver 2 is easeir to stall than the current wrx. If they both cools and flows similar, I rather get the current wrx intercooler because there is a bunch out there on ebay and they are rather inexpensive.

Ahh, I didnt know that. I would say go with the WRX (newer), the install isn't THAT bad, especially if the coolant tank is out of the way. Here's a tip, get some washers to lift the back of the hood up, your clutch reservoir will make the IC sit up high(at least mine does), but its not a huge deal.
