Some articles note that at steady cruising speeds the clutch pack is
sending 90 % of the torque to the front wheels. Others state that under engine braking some 70 % of the braking torque is sent to the front wheels, and when accelerating hard some 70 % of the torque is directed
the rear wheels.

This sounds good and, if so, the acceleration part compares favourably
to the feature on the recent STIs whereby the driver can set the torque
division at 35 %- front and 65 %- rear.

Where can these points be confirmed

I don't believe that the torque is split during accleration unless there is wheel slippage. I think the maximum split is 50-50..and that's only when the front wheels slip.

I do know also, that under braking, the tranny moves to 3rd gear to help you slow down. I wouldn't consider this a matter of torque movement...
