What's your ultimate dream Subaru?

Post by entirelyturbo »

Use your imagination here.

Me, I think, ULTIMATELY, I would most want a BH Legacy GT-B, RHD, in the dark blue (I think it's Blue Ridge Pearl) keep the twin-turbo setup and just massage it to get around 350chp, then swap in a STi 6MT and rear diff. I'd keep the Bilstein shock setup, but maybe just lower it a tiny bit, then throw some Speedline 5-spokes on it and some grippy rubber. I'd do the interior up nicely, but with purpose. Racing seats up front, and take out the back seats and just make it one big cargo bay. Take out the ICE, because the car is enough entertainment for me. It would be mainly for track use, and maybe a weekend outing or something.

Car would look similar to this, in this color:
Image

The wheels would look like this:

I would then feel complete.

Take some time and dream your own up :)

The stock Delorean is only 130hp

You can get one with a rebuilt 200hp engine for about 45K, and weighing in at around 2500lbs, it should smoke just about any BC/BF

I've seen a couple custom DMC-12s running 200-500hp V8s, one running a Lotus V8, just beautiful.

They handle amazingly well too.

Yeah, I'd probably have to go with the 22b also. That or my Subarina done up right.

One of my best friends in HS girlfriends dad owned a Delorean. I was all googly over it until I got to sit in it. The shifter felt loose and sloppy and the clutch had horrible feel. She said it wasn't very fast either. :/ It was cherry though.

If I could have any Subaru and do whatever I wanted to do. hmm...

Part of me wants to take an old BC or GC and do a full STi swap, another part wants to just get a new STi and put some money into it, and another part wants a 22b. I'd feel bad daily driving a 22b, though. I know that after a few years the paint would start to go, there'd be door dings, and of course there's the risk of getting into an accident.

I would love to do the Brat-STi swap as one of my dream roos.

The other would probably be something RHD. Maybe a RHD postal wagon with the EJ20TT swap. It's sick and legal.

1984 GL coupe RWD with an EJ22, diesel if I could manage to build one off a turbo block.

My car completed.

or for just dreaming:

Stripped 2.8L 800+HP turbo BJ 6-speed rwd wide body with my antilag system, reactive skirts that would move with teh suspension, and fans to suck the air from underneath.

I would love a turbo BJ ;).

Built 2.35L, cams, 20G externally gated, Dogbox (5-speed, none of this 6-speed nonsense), PPG front, center, and rear diffs. Cusco WRX Lateral links/trailing arms and Aluminum control arms. KW coilovers, custom "widebody". 17x8.5 SSR Comps. FIA Legal roll cage. No carpet, fixed buckets, my 3" camlock harnesses.... All in a BC.

That mostly covers it, I think.

I also kind of want to put an EJ257 with WRX heads and a mild transmission into my Forester. Nothing crazy, just something with a little bit of go-go-gadgetry.

Dreamer: Subaru SVX sporting a TT setup with a WRX 6MT. In Pearl..preferably a 92.

Closer to reality: '05 WRX STi with 6 MT in..of course...rally blue.

Within reach: 05 Legacy GT with 5MT. Black works.

'06 STi with a redone front end. 2.8L stroker pushing a custom dual ceramic ball bearing turbo from garrett. Archer has one on a SRT-4 that starts to spool at 1800rpm. Titanium rods, built 6 speed, and all the nice bits. Custom carbon widebody to stuff 285's underneath that beotch on magnesium wheels. Seamweld the entire structure, and lay up some bonded carbon in key areas for rigidity. Carbon driveshaft and two piece rotors made out of composite metal matrix. There's nothing like holding a 14" rotor that weighs 5 lbs.

Monoblock 6 piston Alcons in front with matching 4 pots in the rear. Possibly convert to a radial mount.

Sparco Modena seats. They're the only( I think) full carbon reclining seat on the market, at only $4k apiece.

FMIC with a carbon 2.5RS hood, carbon decklid, and anything else I could replace, reskin, or redo with that neat black stuff.

I could go on and on....

There is only one car I would get over dumping substantial/massive amounts of money into the ultimate 93L sleeper (of course just a change in wheels and I'd be ready for any track or rally).

I'm easy. I owned a '96 Legacy Twin Turbo while I was in Japan, I really would've liked to have been able to bring that back with me. My Forester is a great Subaru as well.

But for economy and overall "go-kart" factor, nothing beats an old Civic Hatchback.

I swear I answered this one before but I don't see my post here anywhere.

My dream subaru:

New turbo Forester automatic with a shift kit, 4"-6" of lift kit, something like 27 or 29 inch tires, full skidplates, custom bumpers with winch, oh and while we're dreaming I'd like it to get 30+mpg
