curious of the Ej22T needs a turbo timer of any sorts after a long drive or hard drive.

The coolant tank pretty much takes care of it, but let it idle if you REALLY thrashed it.

Agree!!!
I think they are sold to "tuners" who want to do something, but are
hesitant to go for the serious stuff.

well I thought that letting the car idle had to do with cooking the oil left in the turbo and caking it in there if you just turned the car off. I have one built in to my alarm+remote start so I use it everytime I drive.

Coking the oil occurs when you turn the engine off immediately
after a hot run.
On the Subarus the extra convection circuit and tank helps, but it's best
to idle along for a few blocks or to idle when stopped until the turbo cools.
With a little discipline the money for a turbo-timer can otherwise be spent on go-fast stuff

Shifting most of the time at 5K and 6K would be classified a hard run, no?
it's bad enough my MPG goes to almost Zero doing that with the EJ18.. Best I've got from the tank was 234 miles of highway driving.
and what bothers me.. is How the gas guage reads.. sometime it will hang half way forever.. and then just drop down to almost Empty.
But thats another thread for that.
