I also have a 90 legacy with a blown head gasket.. ... the engine almost overheated but did not( didnt shut itself off just idleing high and bubbling coolant).
Should I still check for warping in the block and heads... ...and is there anything else I should be on the lookout for
thanks in advance-phil

since you are going to have the head off, you definitely should measure it. The blocks don't warp very often, but it can't hurt to measure it as well.
Are you leaving the engine in the car or pulling it?

Im kinda of inbetween on a rebuild or a swap. I am most definately going to swap i the future, but becuase of my financial situation I think I may just rebuild now.
My initial 1200 invest seems to be growing more expensive by the day...
....if the high idle continues should I adjust or just replace the IAC
