I am working on a customers laptop that needed to be cleaned out so I installed Norton and a few other programs to help. During the virus scan it came up with 290 infected files.
Makes you wonder what this dude was doing with his computer.

Good ol' Windows
My Mom's PC gets tons of spyware and the occasional virus from just surfing the net (no porn I swear)

yeah, if by treating it right, you mean, not doing anything with it.
if you leave any windows OS in completely stock form, and don't add any programs on, it'll be great! But you won't want to use it anymore.
The whole beauty of windows is its expandable-ness (not a word, w/e) but it doesn't take very well to add-ons.

Ive had the same installation of windows running for ~10 months (only reinstalled because I switched to a SATA drive) with no virii, no spyware, no crashes
I havent been forced to reboot my computer because of a crash in as long as I can recall.
Dont be an idiot and click on pop ups that look like error messages or use Outlook Express and you'll be fine.

XP Pro is NT with a 98SE feel.
XP home is 98SE with a souped up feel.
When a hot blonde walks by I try to cop a feel.

XP Pro and Home look exactly the same unless you change the settings. Pro just has a few more features and more drivers.

Im a computer tech, Im not a CERTIFIED computer tech.
The difference between me and a certified tech is taht I havent paid $1500 for an exam to say that I know what IRQ stands for. A+ Certification is such a scam.
