It'll work as long as the clutch, flywheel, & pp are meant for the same car.

I have a ~13 lb Spec Flywheel, Stage 2 PP, and 6 Puck ceramic clutch, and it is a BEAR to drive...holds power great...but it drops revs really easily and the clutch is really really grabby...so taking off from a standstill requires lots of effort.

Avoid kevlar clutches like the plague!!!
DON'T PUT IT IN...you will be sorry...
My car roasted through one in like 9k miles. AWD, Torque and Slippage are the main killers of kevlar clutches, all of which our cars have.
Go organic, carbon fiber, or my favorite: ceramic

They are slightly bigger but they should still fit. I and many other board members are using WRX clutches and flywheels.
Is it possible that what you have is actually an STi clutch and flywheel, meant for the 6-speed transmission? Those are indeed too big.

I don't no vrg but all most shredded my in side bell housing, rub marks every where on tranny wall and fork and clutch housing. im go freak out on the people that gave me this shit. im take back the clutch and the light fly wheel.
is clutch master good because they list 1991 legacy turbo pull type clutch and light fly wheel. I am going to change the clutch and get a six puck for my model and they make a light fly wheel 1991 legacy turbo. is clutch master good stuff company.
man what a day started at 10:00am, take out old clutch tranny, take out old turbo, fix little thinks that needed fixing, put everything together, so its time to start car for rad top up and CRAZY noise sounds grinding WOW. rip the hole tranny back down again and put all my factory shit because the stuff didn't fit, finished all that with vf39 in car at 12:00. im go kill some one!!!!

It sounds to me as if you had a clutch and flywheel meant for the new STi 6-speed transmission.
Clutchmasters seems to have a pretty good reputation, but I don't know if you really want a 6-puck clutch... After seeing all the Legacy Turbo transmission failures it kind of makes me think that if the stock clutch isn't strong enough, neither is the stock transmission.

Doesn't the basic design for the transmission date back to the seventies when Subarus made less than 80 HP and 100 lbs/ft? Keep in mind how old these cars are now, too, and then we're punching much more power through them. Considering the records of many other cars (newer ones, even) these transmissions aren't bad. A Subaru Achille's Heel is nearly a bragging point for some other companies. I guess that doesn't help you with your clutch problem, though.

ok i looked up what clutch i got and its the same part number for my tranny clutch as a wrx, so i think i got the right clutch not the right fly wheel.
i have 2 trannys and if one blows up then i replace it and put the ready one in, but there not going to brake becuse i change the oil twice in a year and use the right oil now.

I have a 6 puck ceramic, and I will testify to the fact that it is a bear to drive in town, esp. with a light flywheel...but my tranny is still alive...mostly because I baby it...

I run a 6 puck unsprung Kennedy carbotic (sp?) for $99. With a heavyweight Forester flywheel. No problems yet, almost 7500 miles so far I think.
I have minor chatter/shudder when shifting, sometimes. And only when shifting at low rpms. I think this is due to combining a 6 puck with HEAVY flywheel.
