Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself... my name is Tony and I"m about to purchase a 92 Legacy L AWD from my sister in law for 700 bucks? Not bad for the price. The car is a dark green with tan interior, five speed, and currently has about 210K miles on her but drives like a freaking new car! I won't be of much help concidering this will be my first Subaru.... so expect a lot of newbie comments from myself
PS: Is there any other members from Idaho?

Thank you.... looks like I have a lot of learning to do! I have a question.... is the EJ22 an Interferance motor or Non Interferance motor? I tryed searching but came up with nothing, just wondering because once I get this Legacy I would like to change out the Timming Belt concidering it's mileage?

Welcome!
Early EJ22s like ours are non-interference motors.

Would probably be a good time to do the water pump, hoses, other belts, idler pulleys, etc. you will have apart or access to at the same time. Some of the cam seals & o-rings too. Check in here

for starters. Use search, you'll find all kinds of stuff. Good luck. I have a bunch of hose part #s if you need them.

I bought my first Subaru for $500 and have only bought a different make (Mazda 3) since so I needed a car to slam with miles quickly, but also so I could take the Legacy off the road and hot rod it. I still prefer the old wagon. These cars are really well built.

I bought my first legacy for $700.00 it was a 90 4EAT AWD.
Check the sig for what I currently own. I have had many in-between too.
My 90 that I am driving now I only paid $500.00 for.
