My Suspension Mods List
Here's a list of the suspension mods to my '93 SS.
Subaru 17" 5 spoke WRX wheels with 205/45/17 Toyo Proxes tires.
STI carbon fiber front strut tower brace.
KYB AGX 4 position adjustable front, 8 position adjustable rear struts. Set to 3 and 6 respectively.
IPD 22mm front stabilizer bar.
IPD 22-24mm rear stabilizer bar. Set to 22mm. Probably will go back to 23mm.
Whiteline rear strut tower brace for a '93-'01 Impreza. Not an easy install. The Whiteline brace is very well built with extra reinforcement of the strut top brackets. But this means that it won't pass through the small opening from the strut top to the trunk without widening the opening. It took me 4hrs to drill and cutout the opening.
I know Josh got a cheap brace off Ebay and mentioned something about bending it a little to make it work. (?) Don't know if he meant he bent it to fit through the opening or what.
If any of you have any questions about the installs, let me know.

I just bought a FSTB from ebay- a generic one. Works great. Now, for lower arm bar and sway bars, I went with Cusco and Whiteline because these are quality pieces.
Yes I have too many Subarus
No you can't have one
05 GD-STI
01- RS- Swapped-07 STI
00- GF
93 SS- "the original Robtune" (now in new hands)

I'm just running the cheapo's off ebay. I don't particularly like the front facing WL's.
I think the ebay ones could be improved upon, but they do work, and the way my car handles/feels now, I'm happy.

I love it. Noticed an immediate difference. Much better directional stability and less flex on turns. I got it through the Subaru dealer I work for. It was on a scrap list, so it was free.kleinkid wrote:I'd like to put a strut tower brace on my '91. Do you like that STi piece? Where did you source it from and how much did it cost? Does anybody else have another brand installed or reccommend one?
It bolted up fine. But there are built in washers on the mounting brackets, so you have to put a little locktite on the strut nuts because they don't go down on the studs as far.

That was a misprint. I haven't fiddeled with them for over a year, and I forgot my setting. I have the rears set to 6 and the fronts to 3.ej22t wrote:Just has 1 question on your rear AGX setting. how can you set it to 6.5 on the dial?
Ben
I'm guessing that since the front are 4 position and the rears 8 position, that positions 1, 3, 5, and 7 for the rear are in between positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the front regarding dampening rates.
I've fiddeled with the settings, and it feels that they're in between. What do you guys think?
