new clutch?

can i use a stock clutch if i am doing an ej20t swap to my 91 legacy, or do i have to use a different clutch, it is front wheel drive

you need your clutch and flywheel to match and you should be good

If your '91 is an NA, I'm doubting it would handle the torque of an ej20t. I'm not even shure about the SS clutch, as I have no experience with it. ACT does sell clutches for NA subies that would be up to the task of clamping that beotch, but as always, it costs some dough. I'd think if you were going through the trouble to put an ej20t in your OBD1 car, you wouldn't want to skimp on something as important and pain-in-the-ass to change like the clutch.

I am pushing 175 torque 155 whp with a $99 6 puck disk, 02 RS used pressure plate and Forester flywheel. The disc is supposedly good for 200 whp or so. Better yet, contact Kennedy Engineering for better facts.
