I opened my door, only to find solid black smoke in the hall, so I figured I wasn't going to be making it out that way. I get back into my bedroom and open the window, and fortunately the door to the apartment under me has a little roof over it, so I was able to get onto it, and then swing onto the stairway landing and onto the street...Turns out a guy's apartment down the hall had an electrical fire, and a whole wall went up in flames, while he was sleeping...and his smoke detector didn't go off
He got out in time...and his apartment is toast...
My landlord is probably shitting a brick because the building is waaaaaaaaaaay not up to code, and he could be lookin' at some hefty fines!
Anyway...just thought I'd share one of my more interesting experiences I have had in a while
